Aviointeriors has signed an agreement with Icelandair, Iceland’s largest airline, for the provision of Business Class and Economy Class seats for 16 new aircraft B737 MAX with the option for another 4 additional new aircraft.
An important agreement for the Italian company providing seating products exclusively the fleet of the Icelandic airline.
“It is a great satisfaction to be able to continue our collaboration with Icelandair – commented Ermanno De Vecchi, C.E.O. of the company, and it is even more so considering that the aircraft will be equipped with our seats that are at the forefront of technology, built with innovative techniques, light weight to allow significant fuel savings and a drastic reduction of atmospheric/carbon emissions. It is clear that our seats will be lighter than those currently available on today’s market and we are working on these issues with great commitment and determination.
This agreement is in addition to other deals signed in recent months by Aviointeriors and brings our backlog to a total of 76 aircraft. This will continue providing work not only on the year to come but also for subsequent years. We are also very hopeful of finalizing further contracts with other important airlines and OEM’s which we will provide notice of in due course.
The work done during the past two years is beginning to bear fruit and the strategy to push on the development of new products is proving successful. It is with humility and pride that we are relaunching our company in this global market and starting to hire highly qualified staff to be able to compete in the global international markets of cabin interiors.
